SWEET-TART SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS
1 cup unsweetened tart cherry juice 
1-2 cups strawberries, rinsed and hulled
1 tablespoon ground turmeric
1 bunch fresh beet greens, rinsed well and rough chopped
1 5.3 ounce container nondairy vanilla yogurt

DIRECTIONS
Pour cherry juice into blender, then add remaining ingredients.  Process for about 1 minute or until smooth.  
 
ROASTED INDIAN-SPICED SALMON AND BROCCOLI

INGREDIENTS
1 large head broccoli, rinsed and broken into florets
4 tablespoons grapeseed oil
6 cloves garlic, minced

4 fillets salmon, rinsed and dried
1 tablespoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
sea salt and freshly ground pepper

DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.  Toss broccoli florets with 2 tablespoons grapeseed oil, half of the minced garlic, and salt and pepper to taste.  Spread on baking sheet and place in oven.  

Rub both sides of salmon fillets with remaining grapeseed oil, then lightly salt and pepper and place in baking pan.  Combine remaining garlic with spices in a small bowl.  Rub garlic/spice blend onto top side of salmon fillets, then place in oven.  Roast for about 15 more minutes depending on thickness of salmon fillets.  

Serve salmon and broccoli with jasmine rice if desired.
